How to Embark on a Spiritual Journey (Wait. What?)

How to Start a Spiritual Journey?

I’ve found that once you grow up and live a little bit of life, you start to wonder what all this means. Is there life after death? Do people on the “other side” come back to help you as guides? Are guardian angels real? And how does all this connect to God (or by another name, the Divine, Great Spirit, etc.)?

I’ve been studying this for a while, by ‘studying,’ I mean listening to an awesome podcast called “Insider’s Guide to the Other Side” with Brenda Rose and Julie Rieger. I’ve been learning a lot and it’s been awesome! I also recently began Brenda’s class on connecting with your spirit guides, and it’s amazing so far.

Have you ever wondered about the mystical realms beyond our everyday lives? In this post I’ll give you some tips on dipping your toe into the fascinating world of spiritual journeys and the “other side.” The goal is to help you take that first baby step towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world.

Step 1: Embrace the Curious Wanderer Within

Before we journey to the other side, it’s essential to embrace your inner curious wanderer. You know that happy little wanderer. It’s that part of you that’s always been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe, the inexplicable, and the awe-inspiring.

Remember, a spiritual journey is like a road trip for your soul. So, pack your bags with an open mind and a sprinkle of childlike wonder. Curiosity is your trusty GPS on this adventure, guiding you to destinations unknown.

Step 2: Dabble in Meditation and Mindfulness

Next stop on our spiritual journey is the world of meditation and mindfulness. Picture it: You, sitting cross-legged in your comfiest pajamas, with a serene look on your face (or at least trying to), as you tune in to your inner self.

Now, full disclosure. I have a hard time with meditation. My mind is usually filled with thoughts and “busy.” I’m like hmmm time to just sit and try to meditate… like I know I should, but…. 😆

Well, one thing that Brenda Rose mentioned on the podcast really helped me. She said that you don’t need to be sitting in a quiet room in a Yoga pose, eyes closed with singing bowls going on the background to meditate. You can take like 3-5 minutes any time to drop into that meditative state. Even while going for a walk!

It’s just about quieting your mind. It really helps your guides and “ghost posse” of loved ones on the other side connect to you so you can “hear” them. (You may or may not know it, but you have a whole team over there helping you navigate “earth school.”)

Meditation is the bridge between your everyday reality and the realms beyond. Plus, it’s a great excuse to carve out some “me time.” So, give it a whirl, and don’t be discouraged if your thoughts decide to do the cha-cha during your first attempts. That’s normal! Basically, you do meditation the way that it works for you! Don’t be worried about getting it wrong.

Step 3: Connect with the “Other Side”

Now, let’s talk about the enigmatic “other side.” What is it, exactly? Well, it’s like the VIP lounge of the cosmic airport. It’s where souls hang out after they’ve left this earthly plane. Think of it as a bustling hub of energy and wisdom.

To connect with the “other side,” you can try various methods like meditation, tarot cards, or simply having a heartfelt conversation with your departed loved ones. It’s like catching up with old friends, but with a spiritual twist. Be patient, though; not every soul is a chatty Cathy on the first try.

Step 4: Raising Your Vibe

Now, there are many different ways that people think about the higher power, some may call that entity —God, the Universe, the Divine, the Great Mother. Most agree the higher power they believe in is all about Love. Love is the highest vibration of all.

When you raise your vibration, it means being closer to that feeling of love and peace. When you do that, it helps your own wellbeing and spirit and helps you better connect to those on the other side.

What does “raising your vibe” mean? In a nutshell, being kind, treating others how you would like to be treated, and leading with love. So maybe the next time you feel the urge to engage with not so nice gossip about a coworker or family member, think twice. Ask yourself whether that is going to raise or lower your vibe. Once you start paying attention to things that raise or lower your vibe, you’ll better be able to navigate this (oh, you’ll also find yourself happier! Bonus!) 😁🌸

Step 5: Take It One Step at a Time

Remember, my fellow seekers, the spiritual journey is not a race. It’s a leisurely stroll through the mysteries of existence. Take it one step at a time and give yourself permission to explore in your own time. Savor each moment of insight and connection.

Don’t rush the process; let it unfold naturally. Sometimes, the universe has a quirky sense of timing, and that’s okay. Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be in this cosmic dance.

In Conclusion: You’re on the Right Path

So there you have it — a crash course in embarking on a spiritual journey that explores the “other side” and connects with another part of the journey to a happier life.

As you navigate this wondrous journey, you’ll find that the universe has a way of revealing its secrets when you least expect it. So, keep that heart open, and who knows what awesome & mystical adventures lie ahead? Safe travels on your spiritual quest! 🌟🚀 (and stay tuned for more insights!)
